Children's Ministry

The Promise is a “kid-friendly” church, with several child-oriented ministries:

Every worship service includes a “children’s message.” Nursery care is also a part of every service.

Children meet for “Ed Hour” during the 10:00 a.m. worship services, providing a fun learning event to help them learn to know and follow Jesus Christ on a personal level.

Vacation Bible School provides a week of exciting learning in the summer.

Youth fellowship groups involve students in 3rd – 5th grades, middle school, high school and post highs. In addition, camps, retreats and conferences are offered each summer for youth in these age groups.

Food Drives

We organize monthly food drives in the neighborhoods around our meeting place as a way to express the love of Christ to the hungry. These drives benefit People In Need, the food shelf in Delaware that serves this area.

Children's Outreach

We provide fun outreach activities for the children at Dooley's Orchard housing complex in Lewis Center. These include games, crafts, stories, and meals.

Missions

We believe God calls us to ministry beyond ourselves.

Our latest short-term mission was to inner-city New York City. We learned about homelessness and poverty and served the hungry through a number of projects. We also learned about New York and visited two Moravian Churches. Photos are here.
