Our Vision

The Promise is a worshiping, loving, learning, serving and multiplying community that pursues intimacy with God and personal wholeness and seeks to make a difference for Christ in the world.

Our Mission

We glorify God by loving God, loving people, and loving all people to God.

Our Core Values

  • Christ-centered, Bible-based

We affirm Christ, and him crucified, as the Head of the Church, and the Bible as the sole standard of our faith and life. (Colossians 1:18; 2 Timothy 3:15-17)

  • Empowering Prayer

We affirm the necessity of prayer in all we do as individual believers and as a corporate body. (Romans 8:26-27; Ephesians 6:18; Hebrews 4:16; James 5:16)

  • Dynamic Worship

We experience God through culturally relevant contemporary worship. (Psalm 96:1-3; Matthew 22:37-38)

  • Intentional Evangelism

We help others find new life by sharing the Good News of Christ locally and globally. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)

  • Decentralized Ministry: A Church of Cells

We participate in cell groups as keys to evangelism, discipleship, pastoral care, ministry, and fellowship. (Acts 2:42-47)

  • Gift-based Ministry by the Power of the Holy Spirit

We welcome the work of the Holy Spirit in our midst, practicing ministry through the exercise of our spiritual gifts. (1 Corinthians 12)

  • Personal Transformation to Christ-likeness

We become more like Christ by expressing the heart of servants. (John 13:13-17)

  • Grace Orientation

We love one another as a family in Christ, (John 15:12; Matthew 22:39) living by the motto: “In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things love.”

Our Habits of Growing Christians

Since intimacy with God, personal wholeness, and service for Christ are important values for us, we are committed to assist members in discipleship. To promote spiritual growth we encourage a “handful of habits” in our church family and practice them as members:

  • regular worship attendance
  • participation in a cell group
  • daily personal quiet time with God
  • tithing or intentionally moving toward tithing
  • a personal ministry.
Promise of the Week

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the [person] of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
