Home
We are a community discovering what it means to love God and love other people. We’re growing in authentic relationships, and we’re making a difference. Through meaningful worship celebrations, through personal caring in small groups, and through authentic service we’re learning what Jesus meant by living “abundantly”. We invite you to check us out.
Welcome to our new worship home!
On May 9 we began worshiping in our own 24/7 building! We’re excited about the new opportunities for ministry this affords and the chance to welcome guests and friends. The building is at 9012 Cotter Street, in the Green Meadows Commerce Center on Powell Road, just east of US 23. Our unit faces Powell Road, so it has great visibility and is easy to find. See a map.
Worship services begin at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays. Services are informal and include a practical message from God’s Word. Dress is casual. Our music is contemporary and upbeat, and every service includes a message for the children. Other children’s programming follows during the worship hour.
We invite you to stop by for a visit.
“Go Sunday” Announced
Jesus didn’t tell the world to go to church. He told the church to go to the world. On Sunday, August 1, The Promise will suspend its usual Sunday activities to go into the community to serve in Christ’s name. We’ll meet briefly for worship and prayer, and then teams of volunteers will go out to share the love of God. Some will serve seniors by doing yard work or fix-up jobs. Some will visit residents of a local nursing home. Some will work in the parks weeding and picking trash.
Friends from the community who sense the call to make the world a better place by serving others are invited to join us. We’ll meet back at the church building afterwards to enjoy lunch together and to share our experiences.
“Power Lunches” Begin
Lunch time on Thursdays is being transformed. Business leaders are invited to The Promise from 12:05 to 12:55 for a delicious lunch, networking, and a roundtable discussion on best practices in business. It is an opportunity to take your business to the next level through coaching and discussion. Leaders include Jack Windsor, of the Windsor Group, a business coaching professional; Bruce Bernard, of Bernard Law; and Kevin Gadd, of Tech Columbus.
All local business leaders and their associates are invited. An RSVP would be appreciated, but not required (740-549-1716 or pastor@ThePromiseChurch.net). These lunches continue weekly through August 26.
